Board Members

President: Alivia Yang

Alivia Yang is the President of Mission: Toothbrush and has been a part of Mission: Toothbrush since 9th grade. Currently, in her junior year of high school, her hobbies include listening to music, gaming, and playing violin and tennis. Along with this, she’s been an enthusiastic member of SCIO since 7th grade, as well as Ward Melville's Chamber Orchestra and Varsity tennis team. Additionally, Alivia utilizes her knowledge and passion for wildlife by working as a Discovery Guide at Prospect Park Zoo, Brooklyn. As a Discovery Guide, Alivia not only educates visitors but also raises awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation. In addition to being President, she is also the treasurer for the Ward Melville Tri-M chapter. Her dedication to improving oral health, active community involvement, and passion for wildlife conservation demonstrate her commitment to making a positive difference in the world.

Vice President: Gavin Onghai

Gavin Onghai, a high school senior at Port Jefferson High School, is the Director of Outreach at Mission: Toothbrush. Since 10th grade, he's been dedicated to promoting oral health. Alongside his studies, he enjoys music and tennis. He's a longstanding member of SCIO and Quizbowl and conducts polymer research at SBU Chemistry. As a teacher's assistant at Schoolnova and editor for magazines, he creatively educates students about chemistry. Additionally, he leads Port Jefferson's National Honor Society Chapter, showcasing his commitment to community service and academic excellence. Gavin's dedication to improving access to oral health, community involvement, and research underscores his mission to make a positive impact.

Director of Logistics: Judy Zhao

Judy Zhao, the Director of Logistics for Mission: Toothbrush, is a junior at Ward Melville High School, and has been a part of Mission: Toothbrush since ninth grade. Currently, her hobbies include baking, playing the violin and playing board games. She is a board member on her school’s Science Olympiad team, and works as a teacher at Stony Brook’s Center for Chinese Learning, which showcases her commitment to education and involvement within the community. Judy’s dedication to making oral health more accessible and her passion for scientific studies emphasizes her mission to make a positive impact.

Director of Public Relations: Amal Sani

Amal Sani is the Director of Public Relations for Mission: Toothbrush. She is currently in her junior year of high school and is involved throughout her community. At her school, she's a dedicated member of DECA, Quiz Bowl, and Robotics. Beyond the school environment, she plays a significant role as a youth board member for a healthcare provider. During her downtime, she enjoys reading, golf, and painting. Amal joined the Mission: Toothbrush community and team in hopes to improve accessibility to oral health.
